Since both teams will achieve a spot for the European competitions via their final placement, the allocation of the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League spots will be based on final league positions, with the fourth-placed team also qualifying for the competition.
By winning in the 2009-10 Serbian Cup, Red Star Belgrade qualified for the Europa League. They started in the third qualifying round and were immediately by Slovak side Slovan Bratislava.
