Aveka Singh
Aveka Singh (born 30 December 2003) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for UC Irvine Anteaters. Early lifeSingh started playing football at the age of five. She played football at school in India. She has regarded Brazil international Neymar as her football idol.[1] EducationSingh attended the University of California, Irvine in the United States. She attended the university on an athletic scholarship. She studied business economics.[2] Club careerSingh was described as "seen in action at the Junior Girls' National Football Championship... as well as the Hero U17 Women's Championship".[3] She played for American side UC Irvine Anteaters. She also played for Spanish side Terrassa. She played for the club during the American off-season.[4] International careerSingh is an India youth international. She helped the India women's national under-15 football team win the 2018 SAFF U-15 Women's Championship.[2] She could have played for the India women's national under-17 football team at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup but it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.[3] She was described as "made her international debut under current women's senior team coach Maymol Rocky".[1] Style of playSingh mainly operates as a midfielder. She initially operated as a left-winger. After that, she switched to midfielder.[1] Personal lifeSingh is the daughter of an Indian college golf player.
