Emma Foody
Emma Louise Foody[1] is a British Labour and Co-operative Party politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Cramlington and Killingworth since 2024. Early life and educationFoody was born in Gosforth and attended St Charles R.C Primary School in Gosforth,[citation needed] and Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Fenham, both of which are in Newcastle Upon Tyne.[2][3][4] Foody graduated with a degree in history and politics from the University of Nottingham.[5][6] CareerFrom 2008 to 2011, Foody had roles at the North East Ambulance Service.[5] She then worked for the Labour Party in the East Midlands from 2011 to 2020 including as Regional Director from 2017 to 2020 apart from a short period as external affairs manager at the National Housing Federation[5] From 2020 to 2021, Foody served as deputy police and crime commissioner for Nottinghamshire.[4][7] Political careerFoody was assistant general secretary of the Co-operative Party from 2023 to 2024.[8] In June 2024, Foody was elected as MP for the new constinuency of Cramlington and Killingworth at the 2024 general election.
