Firdous Jamal (Urdu: فردوس جمال; born 9 June 1954) is a Pakistani television, theatre, stage and film actor. Early life and educationFirdous Jamal was born as Firdous Khan to Baz Muhammad Khan, a businessman, in Peshawar on 9 June 1954, and after earning his BA from Islamia College he tried to begin his artistic career as a singer before switching to acting.[3] CareerHaving launched his acting career with a Hindko drama serial called Badnami Dey Toway in the mid-1970s, he has since then acted in at least 300 TV plays, 150 stage plays, 200 radio plays and 50 films, with his work consisting in all the major languages of Pakistan.[1][2][4][5] Personal lifeFamilyHis son Hamza Firdous is an actor,[6] an "award winning web drama producer and actor in Ireland"[7] who has had roles in dramas like O Rangreza or Ghughi, while another son, Bilawal Firdous, whose professional name is Bazil Firdous, is a model and aspiring actor, with whom he opened his own production house, Firdous Jamal Films.[8] Health issuesHe was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2022[9][10] and currently going through remission.
