John Warlow
Douglas John Warlow (born 13 February 1939) is a Welsh former dual-code international rugby union, and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Felinfoel RFC and Llanelli RFC, as a prop,[1][2] and representative level rugby league (RL) for Great Britain, and at club level for St. Helens (two spells), Widnes and the Rochdale Hornets, as a prop or second-row.[3] BackgroundWarlow was born in Dafen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Playing careerInternational honoursJohn Warlow won a cap for Wales (RU) while at Llanelli RFC in 1962 against Ireland,[1][2] and won caps for Great Britain (RL) while at St. Helens in 1964 against France, in the 1968 Rugby League World Cup against New Zealand, and France, and while at Widnes in 1971 against France (two matches), and New Zealand.[3] Championship final appearancesJohn Warlow played right-second-row in St. Helens' 35-12 victory over Halifax in the Championship Final during the 1965–66 season at Station Road, Swinton on Saturday 28 May 1966, in front of a crowd of 30,165.
