Juniors Kingsford light rail station is a light rail and bus station forming the terminus of the Kingsford branch of the CBD and South East Light Rail, situated on the southern side of the Nine Ways intersection along Anzac Parade in the Sydney suburb of Kingsford, New South Wales, Australia.[1]

It features two island platforms with the light rail using the two outer sides and buses using the inner sides, providing cross-platform transfers. Terminating facilities for the light rail are located south of the stop.[2]

History

On 13 December 2012, the O'Farrell ministry announced a commitment to build a light rail line from Circular Quay down George Street to Central station, then across to Moore Park and down Anzac Parade with branches to Kingsford and Randwick.[3]

The station was known as Nine Ways and Kingsford during development.[4][5] In August 2018, Transport for NSW submitted a proposal to the Geographical Names Board for the stop to be renamed from Nine Ways to Juniors Kingsford, which was approved in January 2019, despite local opposition to the commercialisation of the stop name.[6][7]

Passenger services between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford commenced on 3 April 2020, opening quietly amidst the prioritisation of government aid for the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.[8][9]
