Peter Seah Lim Huat
Peter Seah Lim Huat (Chinese: 佘林发; pinyin: Shé Línfā; born 1947) is a business executive. He went to the National University of Singapore in 1968, and after graduation, worked as a sales executive. Seah later joined Citibank.[2] In 1977 he moved to Overseas Union Bank, where he held various senior positions until he became the CEO and Vice-Chairman in 1991.[3] From 2001 to 2015, Seah served on the Board of CapitaLand.[citation needed] Simultaneously, from 2001 to 2013, he was among the board of directors at Singapore Technologies Engineering. In May 2010 he became the Chairman of DBS Bank, and later in Singapore Airlines in 2017. Seah holds numerous board positions, including being the Chairman of LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore. He was awarded the Public Service Star during the National Day Awards in Singapore. In 2012, Seah was conferred the Distinguished Service Order. Early life and careerSeah is the third child out of five brothers. He married Mylene, and had two daughters. Seah attended Saint Joseph's Institution, and later National University of Singapore. At NUS, he enrolled into the Department of Economics for his degree in Business studies but later completed his education when the NUS School of Business was established in 1965, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1968. After his education, Seah started working.[4] He began as a sales executive, and later left for Citibank, and became the Country Head in Brunei.[5] In 1977, Seah moved to the Overseas Union Bank and became the CEO by 1991, as well as the Vice-chairman position.[5] In December 2001, he got another position as the CEO of CapitaLand in Singapore.[6][failed verification] Seah's involvement with ST Engineering began in 2001 when he joined the company's board of directors.[7] Seah joined the board of directors of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank on November 16, 2009, and became the chairman on May 1, 2010. He also served as the chairman of the branch in Hong Kong.[8] In 2017 Seah took over as the Chairman of Singapore Airlines.[8] HonorsSeah was awarded the Public Service Star in 1999. He was conferred the Distinguished Service Order by the President of Singapore in 2012.[9] References
