Sasa (Japanese: ササ or ), also called bamboo grass[1] or broad-leaf bamboo,[2] is a genus of running bamboo.[3] These species have at most one branch per node.

Fossil leaves of †Sasa kodorica are described from the Pliocene of Kodori Valley in Abkhazia, Georgia.[4]
