Tarik Muharemović (pronounced [tâːrik muxâːremoʋitɕ]; born 28 February 2003) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Serie B club Sassuolo, on loan from Juventus. Born in Slovenia, he plays for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Muharemović started his professional career at Wolfsberger AC, playing mainly in its reserve team, before joining Juventus Next Gen in 2021. He was loaned to Sassuolo in 2024.

A former youth international for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muharemović made his senior international debut in 2024.

Club career

Early career

Muharemović started playing football at local clubs, before joining Wolfsberger AC's youth setup in 2019.^[2] He made his professional debut against Red Bull Salzburg on 25 April 2021 at the age of 18.^[3]

Juventus

In August 2021, Muharemović moved to Italian side Juventus on a four-year deal.^[4] On 11 December 2022, he scored his first professional goal playing for Juventus' reserve squad against Arzignano.^[5]

In September 2023, he extended his contract with the team until June 2026.^[6]

In August 2024, he was sent on a season-long loan to Sassuolo.^[7]

International career

Muharemović represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at various youth levels. He also served as a captain of the under-21 team under coach Vinko Marinović.^[8]

In May 2024, he received his first senior call-up, for friendly games against England and Italy.^[9] He debuted against the former on 3 June.^[10]

Personal life

Muharemović's younger brother Kenan is also a professional footballer.^[11]
