Unban declined

Hi, I understand you want me to focus more on why the wp:3rr rule exists, rather than how it applies in my specific case. It seems to me like it exists to establish consensus before making drastic changes. So my question is, when new information comes out, or new more reliable sources report on a topic, could I then add those sources or information? Or would that be considered a revert? The ban is basically over anyway, and it doesn't matter since the page is extended protected now anyway, so I'm more interested in the broad strokes here: am I allowed to update Wikipedia with new information when that information comes out? Thanks! Ezra Fox🦊 • (talk) 09:33, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you should focus on that. WP:BLP effectively says we should only report potential contentious material when a claim can be attributed to a reliable source. 0xDeadbeef→∞ (talk to me) 09:44, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So when you say reliable source, would that mean only a source listed as having a consensus of being reliable? If such an article had been written, and I had then added that edit, would that be considered a revert? Ezra Fox🦊 • (talk) 09:50, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but I don't have enough time to argue these technicalities because I don't think this would be a productive use of my time. Please focus on contributing constructively to Wikipedia. 0xDeadbeef→∞ (talk to me) 12:34, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
