MessageHi, I received a message saying an edit i had made to an article on 'deco' had been removed as it was not constructive. As someone who has made no edits to Wikipedia that I can remember, and certainly not to some sort of footballer's page, could you please kindly explain why I received said message? Thanks, Alex —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.76.40.247 (talk) 13:56, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
article deletion23:20, 5 September 2009 Alexf (talk | contribs) deleted "Muslim outreach" (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://muslimoutreach.org.uk/contact-us/aboutus.html) Hello i am a volunteer on behalf of muslim outreach and i was asked to create a new article about muslim outreach on wikipedia using their website and the above link as a source. Can you please put the wiki page back if i can get proof of permission? how shall i provide this proof? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.69.64.71 (talk) 13:27, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
ANAT Technology pageDear Alex F, I completely fail to understand how the article about ANAT technology could be percieved as a advertisiment. It was made to link to "Self Reconfiguring modular robotics" with Charles Khairallah as inventor, the technology being protected by patent no#s US6,323,615 & US6,686,717 available on google patents. I linked it to an article, and i do understand that wikipedia volunteers such as yourself are protecting the site from being filled with junk, but i assure you this article is quite legitimate, , it meets the standards of other articles about new technologies on wikipedia. I understand why wikipeida volunteers are a bit trigger happy to delete pages, but i will be linking it to numerous media sources, so please put it back, it will be difficult to restart, considering im not being paid to write about this company at all. Im not a great big professional wikipeida page maker like you or others so go ahead and pat you ego, but please help me out here, the article is about a technology, an extrememely interesting one. Its not excaly clear, you you can make the transformers from the movie using the tehcnology (although the company will likely sue you for copywright violation). So put it back, youre not the only person trying to remove all posts ive made, but i am doing first and foremost for my university, second for the world to know about this amazing technology. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canadiansteve (talk • contribs) 20:25, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
I know youre gonna burn me on this i didnt sign my post on your talk page, still please restore the article and heres the sign Canadiansteve (talk) 20:28, 8 September 2009 (UTC) Alex, please i keep getting sent to pages about notability and advertising that ive read several times now and i cant tell you how unbelievably fustrating it is to keep getting more demands to read them. Tell me whats wrong with the article if you have a problem. I assure the technology is quite notable, unless you care nothing for robotics its clear that this tehcnology is as notable as it gets, and would would delete a thousand pages before mine. Having read every guidline on wikipedia again, i realize it was in my best intersted to add the special page tag to let you know that he page is under construction, wen you deleted it i had just added links to three journals, including one done by the quebec government, about this technology and the products it lead to the creation of. This is not about advertising at all, though i would name a hundread other pages as ads before mine, i understand your need to protect wikipeida from spammers. Robotics Design was even removed from the list of robotics comapanies and industrail machine manufacturers, and i dont know why i have to wage a war to write a simple article though i will put under construction on my future post for weeks if necessary, until im sure that they have been linked to every media reference. Please understand that i am not being paid to do this, and i was sure others would eventually link it to other articles and media references where theyve seen it, bt alas youve made it completely clear that i have to do everything or nothing at all, so i will complete the Robotics Design page and all links to it, any problems along the way please tell what i did wrong before deleteing it (and telling me to read guidlines will likely confuse me ). Im trying to have empathy for you here, but i dont understand why youre doing what youre doing, so please return the page and allow me to finish them, or tell me right now to go to hell and il give up on wikipedia, because i havent spent this long arguing about something that will in no way help me financially in my life. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canadiansteve (talk • contribs) 21:20, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
ANATROLLER PAGEThank you alex, i will do my best to make it wikipedia worthy, but to avoid further drama/inconveniences, when it is completed, i would like to please ask for you advice, if any part of it may bring up a new hosts of warning tags. As for the ANAT technology page, i am still confused as to what guidelines itviolates, as it cannot possibly be read as an advertisement, and was made to link to the invontors page on "Self-reconfiguring modular robotics". While the sources are still on thier way, deletion for being an advertisement utterly baffles me. Please explain me what exactly is wrong with that article, or please restore it so i can continue work. I know i might seem a little to dmanding here, as you likely aren't being paid either, but for the inital Robotics Design page, i added them to the category of "robotics Companies" and it was removed. Please tell me how to put them back there or do i yourself, if you think it would take less time then trying to explain it to a semi-computer litterate person like me. I thank you for you help and understanding Canadiansteve (talk) 22:14, 8 September 2009 (UTC) ANATROLLER PAGEDear alex, I am trying to edit the page it bit to sound more neutral, but honestly i cant see how. To be completely honest, i copies the style from the irobot page incuding the style of the individual products they listed, because clearly noone had any problem with the way they were writing. I dont want to take up all your valuable time, but if you have any suggestions on how i could improve the article they would be much appreciated. The post and discussion has been deleted. I would like to be able to develop this post. It was signed "under development". indication was given on the discussion page why the subject was note worthy. heinzmorrison Heinzmorrison (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 11:39, 9 September 2009 (UTC).
Hi Alex the post is here Mike_Youle. i am new to this and did not expect the post to be deleted withouth discussion. I have reposted the article with emphasis on why the individual is notable you have asked for a red link. the page that describes red link has been deleted. ProWorkflowHi Alex, Just wondering if you could give some feedback on why this page: ProWorkflow was deleted. I tried to make it informational and deliberately avoided what I thought were advertising style comments. If there is anyway you can reinstate the page I'd really appreciate it, I modelled the page on similar pages for @Task and Basecamp (Software) which have remained on wikipedia but I'm happy to make some additional edits to bring it in line. Thanks, Rich Ricky1981 (talk) 19:47, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Alex, I'll have another go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ricky1981 (talk • contribs) 20:12, 10 September 2009 (UTC) Jacqueline Nesti Joseph deletedDear Alex, I made a mistake in submitting this before I was ready. Sorry, this is my first contribution. I am adding in references to support the article now. She is a painter that has exhibitions in the Guggenhiem and other artists/painters study her work at school and I would like to have a wikipedia entry on her. So if you could just bear with me until I finish the article I would appreciate not being placed on a "black list" as self promoting. My apologies. Liggett Stashower DeletionHi Alex - I'm struggling to understand why the Liggett Stashower page has been pulled down as perceived advertisement. Prior to launching, we benchmarked against other like companies to keep ours as neutral as possible. To me the content does not appear self-promotional, but I'm obviously missing something. Could you please point me in the right direction? Much appreciated. I'm happy to make any edits/changes you feel necessary to get this page up. - James —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesleekoenig (talk • contribs) 19:56, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Museum of LearningIt says Museum of Learning features mashed data about Museums from a variety of sources, including Wikipedia, Twitter, various other social media outlets ... My Article deleted, can we?Hi Alexf You folks deleted my article 'Hunter and Chase Executive Recruitment' because, as i understand it, wikipedia does not allow companies to talk about themselves as it can be advertising, which is not allowed. This I now understand and is fair enough. However wikipedia still comes up in Google when hunter and chase recruitment or something similar is typed. Although the actual content of the article has been removed, tag/ title is still there, can you please remove it too. Thanks P.S. if there is a way I can still post the article I would of course welcome it, I posted it with the reasoning that it this company is something new and innovative, changing the recruitment industry in this new 'post-recession' era. Although may have come across as more advertising then anything else (sorry can be too much of salesmen sometimes.) Article that was once Speedy Deleted...OK to post yet?Hey man...I wrote an article about a local radio host in my area, Joe Giglio, back a few months ago and the article was speedy deleted. The program now runs on two stations including one that is an affiliate of the NY Jets. Do you think it has reached notability standards? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CharlesWFinady (talk • contribs) 00:45, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
either delte or leave pleaseHi you have deleted my article yet it still tagged and comes up on search engines, can you either delete fully or allow me to post artcle? I don't expect wikipedia to resolve this as quick as it moved to delete my artcle, but it is dragging on alittle now. Quercus (software) page deletedHi, why has the Quercus (software) page been deleted please? Is it purely for "copyright violation" ? I wanted to check for good/bad reviews of the product before using it. Dave

Justin HarderHi Alex, newbie here. I think I'm beginning to understand how the site functions, but I'm hoping you can tell me how to regain access to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Harder page I was creating and where to put it so that I can build it without fear of deletion. I will address the notability issue with references, but I don't want to lose the writing that I had done. (I'm sorry, I don't understand how to make a "red link") Thank you! --Division05 (talk) 22:35, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Jonathan Dos SantosWhy the hell would you delete the Jonathan Dos Santos Wikipedia. He is the best damn soccer player in Mexico.
Question about page deletionHi Alexf, My newly created page was deleted due to concern it was G11 (unambiguous advertising). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumera_Diamonds I felt that it was balanced, containing a number of pros and cons to the company in question. (I am in the industry and am familiar with the company, although not neccessarily a "fan"). Would you mind reviewing the page? If there is one comment in particular that caused the deletion, I would be happy to edit it. Thank you for looking at this. This is my first talk post so fingers crossed that I followed all best practices. Thanks, --Boherb (talk) 02:32, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Please restore Linguatula and advise how to prevent further speedy deletions when class submits more Wikipedia entries.Alexf, I am the Academic Technology Specialist of the Program in Human Biology and maintain the site http://parasites.stanford.edu for Parasites and Pestilence. I was reviewing what had happened to the many entries Professor Scott Smith's students posted on Wikipedia last March (2009) when I discovered that the entry Annie Wattles' created on Linguatula: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linguatula had been speedily deleted: 22:09, 20 March 2009 Alexf (talk | contribs) deleted "Linguatula" (G12: Blatant copyright infringement of http://www.stanford.edu/group/parasites/ParaSites2009/AnnieWattles_parasite/AnnieWattles_Linguatula.html) The pages were identical because Annie was the first to create this Wikipedia entry (I had to help her how to do this), and her work is also collected on our class archive (now with 9 years of student work): Most of the other students' entries from 2009 were added to existing entries for parasites on Wikipedia For example, compare Marlene Kennedy's entry from "In Humans...": with the Wikipaedia entry for Angiostrongyliasis from "In Humans...": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angiostrongyliasis Perhaps because the result was not a word-for-word copy of our own archive, your automated search for copyright violations didn't find these (Marlene Kennedy's was NOT deleted). We don't want any of the students' work deleted because they resemble our own archive. These are for public consumption Dr. Smith has told me he has gotten emails about his paraSite from Africa, etc. and it was on my recommendation that he asked his students to submit their work to Wikipedia. Its clear that his site actually gets searched for information, and the way paraSite.stanford.edu is archived, every entry on a particular parasite is kept in its original condition, when the student first wrote it. Therefore MUCH of the information is redundant or liable to become outdated, and some (I fear) may be now wrong. Keeping information current requires peer review--or a thriving editorial community like Wikipedia. We will be adding a whole other class of entries to Wikipedia in 2010, and I would appreciate advice on how we can ensure they are not speedily deleted for fear of copyright violation. We will continue to keep the stanford archive at http:parasites.stanford.edu but intend the students' work to thrive on Wikipedia. javascript:insertTags('171.64.44.60 (talk) 23:39, 24 September 2009 (UTC)',,) Carlos Seligo
Hoping that you can restore this, as you mention in your reply, now that I have edited this while logged in as CarlLinnaeus. I had not realized I wasn't logged in when I submitted this complaint about the speedy deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CarlLinnaeus (talk • contribs) 20:03, 1 October 2009 (UTC) deletion of Janise YntemaDear Alexf, I must apologize to wikipedia because I was not finished editing my piece on Janise Yntema when I was called away from my computer. I never realized that "speedy deletion" was indeed so speedy! I had tried to put a "holdon" tag on the page, but was unable to realize exactly out how to do this and then when I returned, the article was deleted. This is my first time attempting to submit an article to wikipedia and I realize now I should have kept it in the sandbox until I was fully finished with its editing. I would greatly appreciate the chance to rework and edit this page on this living encaustic artist, and that you will find encyclopedic merit in its new submission. And now my attempt at a Haiku

Deletion of Gianluigi Buffon editsWhy would you remove content without verifying its veracity? I edited Gianluigi Buffon and you stated it had "peacock terms." Any football fan, regardless of club affiliation, would identify him as one of the best goalkeepers in history, in fact he was just named it by the IFFHS. Do you just blanket delete material you don't like, or do you actually verify it first?
Article deletedHi, I noticed you deleted my partly started article about Alex Day. I was still editing it but accidently clicked save page instead of preview. Is there a offline editor or a place where I can edit this article and then create the full article when I am ready? Thanks.
ThanksThanks for you help with the IP vandal. I appreciate it. Clubmarx (talk) 02:20, 28 September 2009 (UTC) Blocked userHi, I prodded a few new (footballer) articles which don't seem to meet notability, but was then just a little surpr!sed to find you had blocked the user apparently as a vandalism account. Obviously I am unable to review potential speedily deleted vandalism pages, but visible edits the user had made generally seemed to be good faith, if inexperienced, edits, so an indef block seemed a little harsh?. Just wondering if I missed something... Regards--ClubOranjeT 10:33, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
