We were blocked by you, due to a couple of reasons, one being that we created the page with a "promotional account" named HamletHub, and also because we did not edit the page for a while. [[1]]

I would like to recreate the page with a different username. I will have someone else create the page so it is not at all promotional. I do understand why BestPrice.gr page looked as candidate for deletion.

Thing is, I tried to write it as objectively as I could since this has happened again in the past.

Yes, I am affiliated with the company, but that's not a reason for the page to be deleted, if I am correct.

I would really appreciate if you would let me know what parts of this items need to change (or be removed) in order to have the article published.

Aw man. It would be nice if you added a link to the page as requested. Something like BestPrice.gr would have been helpful, especially as you see in the top of this page I have limited web access, so searching through thousands of deletions to find it is not easy. I did the search for you and found the article was deleted because it did not assertnotability. Specifically it did not meet the Golden Rule. What little "sources" it had were to YouTube and to the Google WebStore. Hardly independent and reliable sources. The article also was a sales pitch for phaistosnetworks. As for the other couple of issues, you mention other websites which are not relevant to the discussion. If you think other pages you refer to are also not notable, please nominate them for deletion, or ask in their talk page. Lastly you do have a conflict of interest. That was not the reason the page was deleted as already stated but it is a concern. I recently created the page Grabyo which you deleted before I had a chance to add references. I work across the media and broadcasting industry and have been following the company for some time. I thought a page on Wikipedia was warranted given the extensive coverage it has received from noteworthy sources such as The Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, TechCrunch, The Next Web etc. I would be grateful if you could verify this via a quick web search and permit me to create a fresh page with references, for other wikipedia users to contribute to.

The article had no references at all to assert notability. If you do not yet have enough information to pass the Golden Rule then you should work it off line or in a sandbox, not post it to mainspace where, as you saw, it cannot stay and will not last long. Before you do a lot of work on this, make sure you read, and understand, the notability requirements for web content. Hi Alex, thanks for the note and totally fine you deleted the link.

But calling it 'inappropriate' and treating me like a two-year old who can't read and is somehow trying to violate some policy is completely rude, insulting and inappropriate.

I have over 10 years freelancing, tech work, travel writing, website development and understood the requirements - and that the links are 'nofollow'.

The link I added was good information about what was mentioned in the article, about how to see the lines up close... it was an appropriate link, I happen to be one of the first persons - the first I believe - to write about that option for viewing the lines (more detailed on old South America Living site) after my son and I traveled through there.

I won't post anymore, happy to get some photos up to share as I've used Wiki photos in projects, but am not going to offer any more of my time.

Think twice before you so rudely accuse someone of an action, most professionals will not tolerate it.

Molly. Please don't take it the wrong way. It is nothing personal but a matter of policy. Having to process hundreds of issues a day, we have to rely on other editors and on template messages to help reduce the workload, and to send a consistent message. Hi Alex,

Thanks for contributing to making Wikipedia a better place for all us users.

I understand that's your objective, and that's why you deleted my recently created page for Trick gaming studios.

Although I understand the reasons, I still don't think Trick should be deleted.

My reasoning is that the page is relevant for different reasons:

- There are other pages about video game companies (Nintendo, Blizzard, Square Enix, and much more)

- There are other pages about Argentinean companies (Globant, Hexacta, and much more)

- Trick produces and owns it's own IPs so it's providing new artistic content and creativity.

- Trick runs the Argentinean chapter of IGDA and is relevant to the community by hosting free workshops and sessions about gaming (specially in Argentina).

- Ultimately, I think Wikipedia isn't complete unless a user can find the content that he is interested in finding. I personally use Wikipedia to learn about other video game companies (no matter how big or small) and I think other users do the same.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this far. If there's some content that needs to be fixed or changed, please let me know. It wasn't clear in the deletion if that was the case, it only stated that the page wasn't relevant.

Leandro, even though I understand your reasoning I need to tell you why it does not work here as it does not match with Wikipedia's rules.

Lets see:

Having other pages is entirely irrelevant to an article on this business.

The reason if was deleted as explained by the nominating editor and also in the deletion summary was for lack of assertion of notability. The article had no reliable sources. Just a link to their own website and a couple to Facebook. In short, it was removed because it failed to meet the minimums (see the Golden Rule for more on this). -- Alexf^(talk) 18:09, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Anywho, you deleted my AuctionZing.com page (link above)! I realize why and I have read your guidelines and have tried to edit it to make it seem less promotional - I am definitely open to any further suggestions as well - but what can I do now for you to reconsider my page? The article was completely promotional as you know by now, even to the point of giving address, local phone and office hours! May I remind your this is an encyclopedia not Facebook or the Yellow Pages? Besides the promotional aspect, even if it was re-written in a neutral tone, the article stated this is a new company started this year. The article did not provide much in the form of references and reliable sources to assert notability, specifically under WP:WEB. No, the page was deleted for not asserting notability for publication in the encyclopedia. We only have notable subjects. Comparing to other pages like the one you indicated, is meaningless. You cannot take text freely from the web. Most text in websites is copyrighted. Unless it clearly says it is in the public domain or under a share-alike license you should not use it. You can paraphrase but not copy, and you should credit the author. See Wikipedia:Copyright violations for more details. I re-read the piece. It seems to me it has too many verbatim paragraphs from the book listing at Exotic India which clearly states: "All rights reserved. Copyright 2014 © Exotic India". You obviously failed to look through the article's history to find where the article on a notable subject had been wholly replaced by what you thought was an A7 target. And they've now be disambiguated. Where, pray tell, does having a possibly ambiguous title give you a right to delete something?? What the article clearly says may be entirely irrelevant, if you look in the history. If someone replaced the article earth with info on his band and a hatline "for the planet see terra", and someone else tagged it as a speedy delete; would you go ahead and delete it? The page you linked to, which I had deleted, was a redirect from mainspace to user space. That's is not acceptable. You can work on a sandbox off of your user page if you want, then when an article is ready for prime time, you can move it to mainspace or better yet, request it to be checked and moved at AfC. Moving to a non-existent user (userspace) is not valid and will lead to removal. About the person you mention and "I" pronouns, I have no idea what you are talking about. Margarita, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place for promotion of you services. Maybe you have us confused with Facebook? We only cover notable subjects. For a web business, the rules are covered in Wikipedia:Notability (web) and for companies at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). If you have been in business for a while, and have been the subject of articles in mainstream media, or won international awards, and have independent, verifiable, reliable sources to assert it, then by all means. If the business as you say "will be launched on May 29, 2014" then don't you think it is a little too early to be recognized and be notable? ALso, you are stating you are the PR Manager for this company. I'm writing about a recent article that was signed for speedy deletion Ferid El Extranjero. The article had a strong source that showed the artist in an interview that was aired on a National TV in Tunisia. I would wonder why would an editor bother to speedy delete an article that he/she can't even access the reliability of its source. You don't even understand Tunisian Arabic nor did the person who signaled the article for speedy deletion. Let's take it one at a time. The page you are referring to was Ferid extranjero. That page was correctly slated for speedy deletion. The article your wrote had no independent reliable sources. Two of the "sources" were French Wikipedia pages, one was YouTube and one was to a marketing website (delahojaoficial). Even if that last source was reliable (it isn't), your assertion that they had "done an interview" does nothing to assert notability. I am not saying the individual should not be in Wikipedia, nothing of the sort, just that you have not shown why he should be in an encyclopedia. According to the notability guidelines, one band is notable if it meets at least of the criteria. The one criteria who he (Ferid El Extranjero) meets is the following: Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network.
The artist has been a featured subject in a substantial broadcast segment (Labess Show) and that show is aired by the top channel in Tunisia (Ettounisya channel) in terms of viewership. The following wikipedia article(https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musique_underground_tunisienne) comes on the mention of Ferid El Extranjero as an artist who opposed the overthrown regime. We just had a new page we created get Speedy Deleted because it was a duplicate page.

We either need to remove the old page (listed below) or simply change the old page's title to our organization's current name.

We now operate as KICKSTART KIDS rather than just KICKSTART. Is it possible to either delete the old page or change it's title and URL to KICKSTART_KIDS?

I work for Emily Griffith Technical College in Denver, Colorado and we recently went to review the Wikipedia page on our founder, Emily Griffith, and found that her page has been deleted. I would like to request that it be undeleted, this is the link to the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Griffith and it says it was deleted because (A7: Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). Emily Griffith has been recognized by the city of Denver for her contributions to the community countless times over the last 100 years. I am happy to modify the article to reference those significant recognitions if that is the case.

If it's not possible to undelete the page then could would I be able to see a copy of the content that the page had? I would like to write another article about Emily Griffith and her public service but I want to make sure it is significantly different from the page that was deleted.

However, in the past year this band has been much more newsworthy: it was the subject of a long article in the prominent publication Spin ( http://www.spin.com/articles/lets-get-slimed-how-ghost-town-social-mediad-their-way-to-overnight-success/ ), has been covered by the local L.A. entertainment news, and is a headline act in the new international multi-band tour Vans Warped Tour ( http://vanswarpedtour.com/bands/ghost-town ). 2 years ago i created an article (nothing serious i just wanted to see if i could do it). Turns out I cant. Nothing to do with the site, or me. Time limitations have forces me not to create this page. Desouza's School shouldn't be referred as Desouza's English Medium School, Rourkela. Instead it Should and is only referred as Desouza's School only.

Because when abbreviated it short name is DEMS ( Deepika English Medium School) which is already a school in Rourkela and mainly referred as "DEMS". It can tend to create a lot of confusion across people trying to find it or try to use it in abbreviated form.

The school is only referred as "Desouza's School" and Rourkela is the town in which its situated. So there the Article Name should be "Desouza's School, Rourkela"

Please could you undelete the page Sharples School created yesterday by the username sharplesschool. I had not full read the username policy and as such created it on behalf of my school rather than doing it personally. A number of other schools in our location have wiki pages and we felt that since we were celebrating 40 years this summer we would like our school to have a presence as well. Please could you undelete the page Sharples School which was created yesterday. The page refers to a secondary school in Bolton, England and was created with an account which broke username rules. The page was promotional, written by the school themselves. It had nothing but one sentence with no references whatsoever. If you have sources, then go ahead and write an article. There is nothing in the original worth restoring other than promotion. Note that Just because other similar pages exist is not a reason to have a page. I am not saying the subject meets the requirements for asserting notability, but having any of these would have stopped a speedy deletion A7 and gone for a more thorough examination by the community. Thank you for putting me out of the misery of creating a Haiku. I, like most others, had gotten overly optimistic about this message on your user page :)

I am told to have made the rookie mistake of sounding promotional when writing about Busindia. I tried my best to remove all superfluous and unverifiable rhetoric. I was using a competitor page for similar service (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redbus.in) as a reference for acceptability.

I did put in links to respected publications in India including one PR release by a Government of India body (http://pib.nic.in/newsite/erelease.aspx?relid=100355).

Can you please help me in understanding what parts are still dubious?

You did not put a link to the article as requested. Considering there are thousands of deletions daily, it is a little more difficult to search unless you point to it as asked: Busindia. That is what it looks like. Not too difficult, is it? After searching, I did read the article again.It is promotional, mentioning the URL early and often, giving a detailed account of what versions of OS it runs in, all relevant to a promotional brochure or a webpage, not an encyclopedia. An IP user that you blocked, 90.196.3.222 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log), is still disruptively editing articles directly after coming off his block. He changes IP addresses rapidly, but 31 hours is not enough time to keep him from vandalizing 15-20 articles per session. Although a small number of his edits are admittedly helpful, the vast majority do nothing but edit war over genre, introduce IMDb trivia, or otherwise vandalize the articles. Hi Alex, I think you might have jumped the gun in deleting the Biblionef article yesterday. The article was written as part of the GLAM event Western Cape Libraries edit-a-thon and what was deleted was only the first iteration of that article. It was deleted before the first time editors taking part in the edit-a-thon had a chance to add supporting references to the article. To be honest, not too happy with it. The old username "Sistema Firjan" (Firjan System) is the same he has in Portuguese. I do read fluent Portuguese and checked his originals when he made the translations. Although the new proposed name "Luis at ..." is acceptable, his continued COI is suspect. The original articles in PT and the ones in EN.WP reek of spam to me as he keeps talking about how his Federation (FIRJAN) is involved at the State and National level in Brazil on this and that. Clear COI. It is up to you. There were once 100+ retail outlets in this niche category in the UK. Now there are less than 10. There is no indication that the trend will reverse.

As a historical record of the UK retail niche sectors, I think there is merit in retaining some record of the few players left and that this retail category once existed.

I've been in the sector for 10 years...I'll keep going for maybe another 10 years... by which time maybe the final 10 will go...and this tiny UK niche retail sector employing maybe 100 people in the UK will be history and the ONLY factual record that we (and it) ever existed will be Wiki.

IMO, tracking the windswept footsteps on less traveled paths of humanity is why humanity needs Wiki.

PS. I was planning to add a list of all extinct and current manufacturing brands that we used to carry...with a description of their design "signature" as last resting place for their existence. If this also appears to be to promotional for Wiki, let me know...and save me the time in doing needless work

I hope that you can reinstate the record of our existence......there are not many of us left!

Jonathan, Vanjagenije has been kind enough to leave you the red link. You mentioned you couldn't because the article was not there anymore. That is what a red link is, and why it is red. I checked it again and the article did not have any reference or reliable source whatsoever. The only external source was to the company's own website which is hardly neutral. When you talk of "Wiki" I am assuming you meant Wikipedia, not just any wiki (there are several thousands out there). If you meant Wikipedia, maybe you misunderstand us. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and only as articles on notable subjects. I am not saying the company is not notable, I've no idea as you have not shown it. I am saying that Wikipedia is not as you put it for "a historical record of the UK retail niche sectors". I created the article for whatskiping. I see you have deleted it based on assumption that it was created for advertising purposes. Please understand that I am not by any means trying to promote or advertise the page. This is just for people around the world to know that in South Africa we are also trying to catch up in the "tech world" and are creating our own local social networks to try and compete on an international level. This is also to try and boost the morale to our fellow African brothers and sisters to show that "it is possible" and by working together, even greater things can come out of 3rd world countries. Don, a red link to Whatskiping as requested would have been nice and saved time in searching. The article was removed because it was advertising. "This is just for people around the world to know that in South Africa we are also trying..." is promotion. Showing as the only link its own website and advertising their presence in Facebook is, you got it: advertising. Besides the article was for an entity that does not show it notability, so even after passing through the advertising language, it still could not stay without asserting notability. This is done by means of reliable sources of which there weren't any. Can you please restore "Bangalore Queer Pride March" page, if you are satisfied with my reasoning.

This is about an event for sure, but it is of public importance. A lot of visitors and residents of Banglore, especially LGBT and their friends search for "Bangalore Queer Pride March" on web, to know when it happens, what are the different events in involved etc, so that they can participate. This is for encyclopaedic information, not for any advertisements or promotion. They don't charge to participate in this event.

Please "un-delete" the page asap.

The article was removed for not showing notability as explained in the deletion notice. It had no reliable sources whatsoever. Wikipedia only accepts notable subjects, properly sourced. Your comments above indicate you may be misunderstanding what we are about. Wikipedia is not a travel guide. If the city wants to have events advertised it should do so in its own website. Potential visitors should not go to Wikipedia to "know when it happens and what are the different events involved...". That would be advertising. Also please read the notice above the edit page. You did not start a new section as required, mixing the text with whatever was there previously and you did not provide a link to the article, also required. I would like to work with you on the proper formatting or whichever guidelines I failed to follow in regard to my post "One Gift". One Gift does not accept tithing or donations, nor is it dramatic or contentious so I don't foresee it making any headlines. One Gift is a quiet but quickly spreading simple religion which has a confirmed volunteer membership of 348,109 which means it could have millions of members by now? Like your other entries I believe this is a very valuable entry and I believe people would be happy if they could look up "One Gift" in Wikipedia, their favorite online encyclopedia.

It is rather simple: Articles require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. Yours had none. I also see that instead of asking you repeatedly recreated it and as so it was removed several times. That is not the way to start as an editor. When you make a mistake, the proper way to deal with it is to stop and ask. You will be pointed to the documentation, rules and regulations, then you understand them or ask some more until you do. I would suggest you read the linked pages then ask questions at the Tea House which is staffed by volunteers willing to help. Also please read the posting etiquette requested at the top of the edit page, and next time please provide a link to the article in question. The Side Projects section of Flume's article is outdated and has been for some time. However instead of editing the section I think it would be best to remove it from the Flume page and create a dedicated article for What So Not. Harley and Chris have been producing more and more tracks recently and have started collaborations with other artists such as Skrillex and Dillon Francis. Their discography is growing and I think having an article would be a good way of keeping up with their releases. They are signed to Skrillex's label OWSLA and are currently supporting him on his 2014 Mothership Tour. As for the Wikipedia rules about "reliable sources": I don't conform to that, artists don't give official statements anymore, the way things are documented has changed and the media has changed since social media is the new/quickest/easiest way of artists exchanging information to their fans and the press. Most news sites don't cover the smaller artists and a lot of what they say would usually have gone unnoticed but posts on Facebook and Twitter have made it easier to keep track of them such as new songs and collaborations. I think you're reading too much into the rules of Wikipedia that were written before most of the social media sites were even around leaving them outdated. Nearly all of the World's news programmes and media channels have their own pages on these social networking sites, use footage captured and uploaded to YouTube as evidence and even highlight tweets by people that they didn't manage to get an interview with. If someone says something about someone with nothing to back it up then there's no reason to believe what they are saying is true. But if you give evidence that documents and supports their claim (text, video or audio) then that is a VALID source of information and proof that it is true. I've been thanked for my work on unreleased sections since people find it's a good source of information. Everything I've ever posted has been given a referenced source IE official Twitter account tweets from artists, YouTube video taken live from a gig (dated), news articles with interviews ETC. I think articles like these should be left to the people and fans who are most passionate about the artists and their music instead of the back seat moderators of Wikipedia. Hi, I'm not really clear why Behat (Computer Science) was deleted. You quoted A7 (Wikipedia:CSD#A7) as the reason but after reading that section. I fail to see the reason why it was deleted. It would seem to me a computer technology that is currently in use would represent a valid article on Wikipedia. No need to shout or be nasty about it. If you had left a link to the article as requested it would have been easier. If you do not know how, please read the instructions for posting, at the top of the edit page here. As there are hundreds and sometimes thousands of deletions a day, it really helps if you do your part. I did your search for you. The article you mention is at Ashwath Naganathan (not the way you spelled it). It had no independent reliable sources at all. It said he is a new music director with a film released on July 11, 2014. Hardly enough time to get info, which the writer did not place in the article anyway. The writer was User talk:IhtrakMM. S/he had ample notice in the talk page indicating the article was subject to deletion and what to do about it, but nothing was done then, so it was deleted. It is a simple case.
