Nick AutryHi Alexf. I'm working to make sure all of the noteworthy people of the recording industry have facts available. One of the names I'm trying to provide information on is singer/songwriter and recording engineer Nick Autry. It seems there was a page with his name that has been deleted some time ago. There may be more names in the future as I'm working alphabetical order. Thanks!
Phaistonian (talk) 11:50, 11 April 2014 (UTC) Regarding deletion on BestPrice.grHello. I do understand why BestPrice.gr page looked as candidate for deletion. Thing is, I tried to write it as objectively as I could since this has happened again in the past. Yes, I am affiliated with the company, but that's not a reason for the page to be deleted, if I am correct. I would really appreciate if you would let me know what parts of this items need to change (or be removed) in order to have the article published. Thank you. ps: There are so many companies and services like ours, some are way younger and way "smaller" than ours that do have a wikipedia item.

Hi! Thank you for dealing with the speedy deletion of Idin Samimi Mofakham as G11/G12. As the colour of the link will have told you, it's back with us. As far as I can recall it's closely similar to the previous version, and similarly copied/ close-paraphrased from [2]. Can I ask you to deal with it again (perhaps with some salt?), or should I tag it again and let things take their course? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:13, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Mova Nanova recreatedMova Nanova, a page you once deleted, has been recreated. You may want to investigate if it has been expanded sufficiently. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:59, 20 April 2014 (UTC) First of all, the Mova Nanova initiative gains its due notability by the fact that it reflects an important aspect of the cultural life of the present day Belarus touching upon the vulnerable issue of the language situation in the country. • Given that the initiative is voluntary and has gained traction among people of different background, then spread to almost all regional centres, still on a voluntary basis, and is acclaimed and supported by notable cultural personalities and famous people, it demonstrates the shift in the attitude of common people towards the Belarusian language, which image has long been “disfigured”. In this case the article has its value for the English-speaking readers by giving the information on the cultural and linguistic sides of Belarusian life, and at the same time demonstrating the social topicality of the issue. • The article represents the translation of the Belarusian version of Wikipedia and supplements the scarce information about Belarus in its English version, helping the English-speaking readership give a more clear view of the country and explaining some of the questions like “Why isn’t Belarusian the language that you can hear on the streets while in Belarus?” and “What is the situation like these days?”, and etc. • For a long time the Belarusian language has been unjustly considered to be the language of peasants and the illiterate, even in the not too distant 90s of the XXth century. This page demonstrates the issues that the Belarusian-speaking minority (and those aspiring to become Belarusian-speaking) is confronted with, and how these issues are tackled with in the present day context, which is again the reflection of the Belarusian cultural aspects. This point is referenced by the figures of the latest census and UNESCO statistics. • The page also arises the problem of the linguistic disproportion of Russian and Belarusian in the bilingual environment on the territory of Belarus (de jure) that has long held true, at certain historical points going to extremes with adverse anti-Belarusian propaganda and targeted governmental actions aimed at its elimination. The page offers the information for further familiarization with by linking to the page about the Belarusian language. • Finally, the information on this page is backed by the references from independent nation-wide online sources of information and news portals (TUT.BY, Belsat TV, Euroradio.fm). The limited quantity of such references can be explained by the fact that usually negative events are given higher priority on the newsworthy scale and get more media coverage, whereas cultural events are given a smaller share of press attention in flagship publications, and are often reprinted from the leading information sources by other minor news organizations. (Moreover, please, give due attention to the fact that the page deals with the de facto linguistic minority, which reduces the press coverage of this activity even more, which doesn’t lessen its notability though). --Умецкі Максім (talk) 17:11, 23 April 2014 (UTC) The Bugle: Issue XCVII, April 2014

I work across the media and broadcasting industry and have been following the company for some time. I thought a page on Wikipedia was warranted given the extensive coverage it has received from noteworthy sources such as The Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, TechCrunch, The Next Web etc. I would be grateful if you could verify this via a quick web search and permit me to create a fresh page with references, for other wikipedia users to contribute to. But calling it 'inappropriate' and treating me like a two-year old who can't read and is somehow trying to violate some policy is completely rude, insulting and inappropriate. I have over 10 years freelancing, tech work, travel writing, website development and understood the requirements - and that the links are 'nofollow'. The link I added was good information about what was mentioned in the article, about how to see the lines up close... it was an appropriate link, I happen to be one of the first persons - the first I believe - to write about that option for viewing the lines (more detailed on old South America Living site) after my son and I traveled through there. I won't post anymore, happy to get some photos up to share as I've used Wiki photos in projects, but am not going to offer any more of my time. Deletion of Trick gaming studiosHi Alex, Thanks for contributing to making Wikipedia a better place for all us users. I understand that's your objective, and that's why you deleted my recently created page for Trick gaming studios. Although I understand the reasons, I still don't think Trick should be deleted. My reasoning is that the page is relevant for different reasons: - There are other pages about video game companies (Nintendo, Blizzard, Square Enix, and much more) - There are other pages about Argentinean companies (Globant, Hexacta, and much more) - Trick produces and owns it's own IPs so it's providing new artistic content and creativity. - Trick runs the Argentinean chapter of IGDA and is relevant to the community by hosting free workshops and sessions about gaming (specially in Argentina). - Ultimately, I think Wikipedia isn't complete unless a user can find the content that he is interested in finding. I personally use Wikipedia to learn about other video game companies (no matter how big or small) and I think other users do the same. Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this far. If there's some content that needs to be fixed or changed, please let me know. It wasn't clear in the deletion if that was the case, it only stated that the page wasn't relevant. Ferid Extranjero speedy deletionI'm writing about a recent article that was signed for speedy deletion Ferid El Extranjero. The article had a strong source that showed the artist in an interview that was aired on a National TV in Tunisia. I would wonder why would an editor bother to speedy delete an article that he/she can't even access the reliability of its source. You don't even understand Tunisian Arabic nor did the person who signaled the article for speedy deletion. It is very unfair what you have done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amejel (talk • contribs) 19:59, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
According to the notability guidelines, one band is notable if it meets at least of the criteria. The one criteria who he (Ferid El Extranjero) meets is the following:
Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network.

Time to undelete Ghost Town (band)Hi, In April 2013 you deleted an article for a new band, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Town_(band) , because it was not yet notable. True, then it wasn't. However, in the past year this band has been much more newsworthy: it was the subject of a long article in the prominent publication Spin ( http://www.spin.com/articles/lets-get-slimed-how-ghost-town-social-mediad-their-way-to-overnight-success/ ), has been covered by the local L.A. entertainment news, and is a headline act in the new international multi-band tour Vans Warped Tour ( http://vanswarpedtour.com/bands/ghost-town ). Request for Page Title and School Name Change In Wikipediahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desouza's_English_Medium_School,_Rourkela Should be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desouza's_School,_Rourkela
Because when abbreviated it short name is DEMS ( Deepika English Medium School) which is already a school in Rourkela and mainly referred as "DEMS". It can tend to create a lot of confusion across people trying to find it or try to use it in abbreviated form. The school is only referred as "Desouza's School" and Rourkela is the town in which its situated. So there the Article Name should be "Desouza's School, Rourkela" Places where it found: In the School Diary, in the school prospectus, and in the school monogram which is stitched to the school shirt's of the students in this school. A3?Hallo, I see you deleted Devin West as A3. It had no text, just an infobox, and I nominated it for deletion as A7, no credible assertion of importance or significance. My reading of the A3 criterion is that an article with an informative infobox is not A3-able. What do you think? Although a small number of his edits are admittedly helpful, the vast majority do nothing but edit war over genre, introduce IMDb trivia, or otherwise vandalize the articles. Anzwalla AnantnagThanks for the block, but I'm pretty sure it's a sock. Two other accounts with 'related' names that I know of were adding similar biographical text to multiple pages. Eg. [3] have opened an SPI Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Anzwalla.--220 of Borg 10:48, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 11Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Cuban artists, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Luis Miguel Rodriguez. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:22, 11 July 2014 (UTC) BiblionefHi Alex, I think you might have jumped the gun in deleting the Biblionef article yesterday. The article was written as part of the GLAM event Western Cape Libraries edit-a-thon and what was deleted was only the first iteration of that article. It was deleted before the first time editors taking part in the edit-a-thon had a chance to add supporting references to the article. I would like to know if there is any way to roll back the deletion or if it will be necessary to re-create the article from scratch? Thanks,--Discott (talk) 08:45, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Madame de Sablé updated linkGreetings -- The link to the maxims of Madame de Sablé was to an old site of mine at charon.sfsu.edu. That site no longer exists. So I transferred the translations to my new site on Squarespace and corrected the link on the Wikipedia entry: Madeleine_de_Souvré,_marquise_de_Sablé I removed the dead link: http://charon.sfsu.edu/sablefolder/newsable.php to a link to my new page of Sablé maxims: https://arthur-chandler.squarespace.com/maxims-of-madame-de-sabl Apologies if I made a mistake. Ceiling fan vandalThanks for blocking Special:Contributions/Hemdrj who was putting links to ceiling fans in four articles. A new editor picked up where he left off: Special:Contributions/Coeaner. I think it would be wise to protect the four targeted articles. Thanks! Binksternet (talk) 15:31, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
Sistema FirjanThis user has requested a new username that is acceptable. He does, however, say he wants to continue editing the articles he has been editing as they are merely translations of articles he's already written for the Portuguese Wikipedia, where (based on running his user talk page through Google Translate) he seems to be in good standing. BEIGE (Retailer) - request for speedy undeletion of speedy deletionre: This page should not be speedily deleted because... JonathanFriedmanM (talk) 11:22, 19 July 2014 (UTC) Here is my case. I've tried to get you a red a link...but there's no article to link to any more. BEIGE (Retailer) is one of the last of its breed of retailer in the UK. As a niche UK retail category, "Independent plus size retailers" in the UK virtually disappeared during the 2007-2013 global financial recession. Stepping back up the food chain, plus size brand manufacturer representation in Europe (Dusseldorf was once the global economic hub for plus size independents) is now tiny fraction of its economic former size. As a indicator of the changing shape of the market (pls excuse the pun) the global conference and exhibition for the sector (known as CPD) struggled on for years but finally succumbed to the downturn and closed in 2012. (in its heyday, CPD ran for decades, was attended by 20,000+ across 17 exhibition halls) There were once 100+ retail outlets in this niche category in the UK. Now there are less than 10. There is no indication that the trend will reverse. As a historical record of the UK retail niche sectors, I think there is merit in retaining some record of the few players left and that this retail category once existed. I've been in the sector for 10 years...I'll keep going for maybe another 10 years... by which time maybe the final 10 will go...and this tiny UK niche retail sector employing maybe 100 people in the UK will be history and the ONLY factual record that we (and it) ever existed will be Wiki. IMO, tracking the windswept footsteps on less traveled paths of humanity is why humanity needs Wiki. PS. I was planning to add a list of all extinct and current manufacturing brands that we used to carry...with a description of their design "signature" as last resting place for their existence. If this also appears to be to promotional for Wiki, let me know...and save me the time in doing needless work I hope that you can reinstate the record of our existence......there are not many of us left! Kind regards Jonathan — Preceding unsigned comment added by JonathanFriedmanM (talk • contribs) 13:41, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
Jonathan, Vanjagenije has been kind enough to leave you the red link. You mentioned you couldn't because the article was not there anymore. That is what a red link is, and why it is red. I checked it again and the article did not have any reference or reliable source whatsoever. The only external source was to the company's own website which is hardly neutral. When you talk of "Wiki" I am assuming you meant Wikipedia, not just any wiki (there are several thousands out there). If you meant Wikipedia, maybe you misunderstand us. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and only as articles on notable subjects. I am not saying the company is not notable, I've no idea as you have not shown it. I am saying that Wikipedia is not as you put it for "a historical record of the UK retail niche sectors". If the niche company has a right to be in Wikipedia, you need to do better than that. -- Alexf(talk) 00:52, 20 July 2014 (UTC) The Bugle: Issue C, July 2014

I see you have deleted it based on assumption that it was created for advertising purposes. Please understand that I am not by any means trying to promote or advertise the page. This is just for people around the world to know that in South Africa we are also trying to catch up in the "tech world" and are creating our own local social networks to try and compete on an international level. This is also to try and boost the morale to our fellow African brothers and sisters to show that "it is possible" and by working together, even greater things can come out of 3rd world countries. I will really appreciate it if you could un delete the page. Thanking you in advance, Don Mapholoba (talk) 11:25, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

This is about an event for sure, but it is of public importance. A lot of visitors and residents of Banglore, especially LGBT and their friends search for "Bangalore Queer Pride March" on web, to know when it happens, what are the different events in involved etc, so that they can participate. This is for encyclopaedic information, not for any advertisements or promotion. They don't charge to participate in this event. Please "un-delete" the page asap. I would like to work with you regarding my deleted postDear Alex, I would like to work with you on the proper formatting or whichever guidelines I failed to follow in regard to my post "One Gift". One Gift does not accept tithing or donations, nor is it dramatic or contentious so I don't foresee it making any headlines. One Gift is a quiet but quickly spreading simple religion which has a confirmed volunteer membership of 348,109 which means it could have millions of members by now? Like your other entries I believe this is a very valuable entry and I believe people would be happy if they could look up "One Gift" in Wikipedia, their favorite online encyclopedia. Thank You for your time! Kedves Kedves-V (talk) 02:13, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

My article under the name "Ashwath Nanganathan" was deleted. The reason quoted for deletion was "A7. No indication of importance". Here are some facts about the person whom the article was about. 1) Interview by press on his debut as music director in South Indian movie http://behindwoods.com/tamil-music-director/ashwath-naganathan/ashwath-naganathan-interview.html 2) His profile as music director is listed under a website http://www.cineulagam.com/tamil/celebs/music-director/ashwath-naganathan/profile/ 3) Film composed by him http://letterboxd.com/composer/ashwath-naganathan/ 4) Wiki page about the movie for which he scored music https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nalanum_Nandhiniyum There are more facts about his fame. Please restore his page and I will add more details. Thanks! The Deletion of What So Not article.I'd like an explanation as to why it was deleted when everything was referenced and enough evidence was given. Idensai (talk) 00:49, 27 July 2014 (UTC) If you do a simple Google search you'll understand why they deserve their own article. The Side Projects section of Flume's article is outdated and has been for some time. However instead of editing the section I think it would be best to remove it from the Flume page and create a dedicated article for What So Not. Harley and Chris have been producing more and more tracks recently and have started collaborations with other artists such as Skrillex and Dillon Francis. Their discography is growing and I think having an article would be a good way of keeping up with their releases. They are signed to Skrillex's label OWSLA and are currently supporting him on his 2014 Mothership Tour. They have played some of the world's biggest music festivals: Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2014, Electric Daisy Carnival Mexico 2014, Electric Forest Festival 2014, Field Day 2014, Groovin the Moo 2014, Lightning in a Bottle 2014, Snowball Music Festival 2014, Watershed 2014, What the Festival 2014, Laneway Festival 2013, Stereosonic 2013, Splendour in the Grass Festival 2013. - Idensai (talk) 01:38, 27 July 2014 (UTC) As for the Wikipedia rules about "reliable sources": I don't conform to that, artists don't give official statements anymore, the way things are documented has changed and the media has changed since social media is the new/quickest/easiest way of artists exchanging information to their fans and the press. Most news sites don't cover the smaller artists and a lot of what they say would usually have gone unnoticed but posts on Facebook and Twitter have made it easier to keep track of them such as new songs and collaborations. I think you're reading too much into the rules of Wikipedia that were written before most of the social media sites were even around leaving them outdated. Nearly all of the World's news programmes and media channels have their own pages on these social networking sites, use footage captured and uploaded to YouTube as evidence and even highlight tweets by people that they didn't manage to get an interview with. If someone says something about someone with nothing to back it up then there's no reason to believe what they are saying is true. But if you give evidence that documents and supports their claim (text, video or audio) then that is a VALID source of information and proof that it is true. I've been thanked for my work on unreleased sections since people find it's a good source of information. Everything I've ever posted has been given a referenced source IE official Twitter account tweets from artists, YouTube video taken live from a gig (dated), news articles with interviews ETC. I think articles like these should be left to the people and fans who are most passionate about the artists and their music instead of the back seat moderators of Wikipedia. Dear Alexf, The Icelandic Energy Portal is an independent organization which is a major source about the Icelandic energy sector. It is frequently used by people looking for information about the sector and ranks high on search engines like Google. Thus, I believe it fully deserves to have a page on Wikipedia, just as for example The_Oil_Drum. Kindly allow me to ask you to consider to restore the page (Icelandic Energy Portal). Yours sincerely, Livingstone (talk) 23:10, 27 July 2014 (UTC) Livingstone PS: As this is my first letter of this kind, I am not quite sure what is meant by signing the post with four tildes, but hope the signature above is sufficient.

Hi, I'm not really clear why Behat (Computer Science) was deleted. You quoted A7 (Wikipedia:CSD#A7) as the reason but after reading that section. I fail to see the reason why it was deleted. It would seem to me a computer technology that is currently in use would represent a valid article on Wikipedia. I am not an expert on the topic but spent time creating a framework for someone who is to add to it. Paullb (talk) 03:28, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
