@MRRaja001:, it has to be done like this: go the Talk Page of an article and edit the Wikiproject information (e.g. 'WikiProject Rabbits|importance=mid|class=stub' can be changed to 'WikiProject Rabbits|importance=mid|class=B'). @HuckRightOff: I'm afraid you're up against Wikipedia's policy on user-generated content, "Content from websites whose content is largely user-generated is generally unacceptable." If you are an established and published expert, then the page may be acceptable to use, but there would need to be reliable information on the page about the sources used (see WP:BLOGS for where I am coming from). From your review of Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy @ GA review talk page: The article now has tags, as the lead section is not an adequate summary of the article; in places it is too technical and difficult to read and the prose needs to be copy edited.

@Amitchell125: thank you for your careful reading of Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and for your suggestions for improvements. This was a fun experience for me, and my little experiment on how wikipedia works and breathes. I wrote the article for who I was some 15 years ago - a grad student overwhelmed with real physics. This article is about a very narrow subfield of condensed matter physics, and I doubt it can be made any more accessible to general readers (no link?). I hope that in another 13 years (I'm referring to 2007 Talk - Suggestions for improvement someone else will give it a try. I understand that for most people this article will be incomprehensible, but then - how likely are they to end up reading the article to begin with? I am writing to complain about the straw man you put on top of the article - that big frame with a red exclamation mark. I've been removing those recently from other articles. The last one I removed was put there in 2010. I don't think they serve any purpose but to scare off people, saying that some things with the article are possibly wrong, but not saying that many are also right. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy was a stub for 13+ years; I don't think the red exclamation mark is, all of a sudden, going to attract all those many experts in the field. I am not saying everything is alright with the article, I am sure many things are not. I also don't really care how it's going to be classified. I was hoping the review would make it better, and it did. It does makes me sad that out of 23ooo articles listed at Physics only 166 are good articles. Of those, at least 50% are biographies, the rest is history of science/physics, and few high-level, mostly classical phenomena. Some say Quantum electrodynamics is a really good good article, but then: short lead? terms and concepts beyond the understanding of most readers? How about Representation theory of the Lorentz group: short lead? terms and concepts? too technical template on top? How about Dirac delta function? Antimetric electrical network? Negative resistance: formulas in the lead? too many images? Should all physics and maths articles start with "here be dragons" exclamation marks? Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy was copy-edited (more or less successfully) on my request just two months ago. That huge frame on top of the article now asks for another copy-edit. Wouldn't it be better to let the article evolve like all other wikipedia articles? Is that template really necessary? This is the only article that I've ever seen have it. I'm reading in MOS:LEADLENGTH that "the length of the lead should conform to readers' expectations of a short, but useful and complete, summary of the topic". Short. Summary. Of the topic. The topic in Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy is not ARPES instrumentation (I do write about it, but it's in the article because it can't be found in published sources-especially not with all those pictures-and because it's fun to read). The topic is what ARPES can do in condensed matter physics. The lead is saying what ARPES is, and what it can do, skipping the hows. I believe this is enough. It was enough in those few other good articles above. In short, the three templates (will) serve no purpose and should not be on top of Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy or, if you ask me, any other wikipedia article (many thousands deserve it and do not have it). @Ponor:I agree and sympathise with many of your comments, in particular about the dearth of good physics articles on Wikipedia. Instead of looking at other articles for comparison, I would stick to Wikipedia's advice and polices about lead sections, images, etc.. The article will be a difficult read no matter how well written it is, which makes the quality of the lead section crucially important, as it's the only part most readers will look at. The diagram at the top, the prose, the completeness, everything has to be OK.

I flagged up the article at the top to attract other experienced editors—the template causes the article to be listed elsewhere as being in need of attention. See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests#Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy for a message left by me for other copy editors.

I am an editor with a physics background (see Violin acoustics, which I got to GA if you're interested, but I enjoy history more these days). I am thus able to help to address the issues highlighted at the top of the article, and I'm with you on being keen for the 'straw man' to disappear! @Amitchell125:thank you for your response. I'm sure there will be rules and policies around for every point you wish to make. MOS itself seems to have two advice (not rules) about the lead, of which you cite "(lead should be written) in such a way that it can stand on its own as a concise version of the article”, the other being closer to what seemed to apply to other good articles I mentioned above: "The lead should stand on its own as a concise overview of the article's topic". So there are some double standards here. It would be great to have other editors attracted to my article. But they would get attracted (never happened, though) even if the templates were in the article's talk page. So I guess this ugly box will be polluting the article for many years to come; it's a punishment solely by its appearance. The article was copy-edited by the very Guild of Copy Editors editor (there are only four or five of them active, and no one specialized in STEM) just two months ago. I could try guessing what you think are the article's weak points, but without you pointing finger to the exact paragraphs and sentences, and with no feedback when I make changes, this would go forever. Without being more specific, your addition of these templates could be considered violation of a policy I found (smiley): "You should put an explanation on the talk page with comments on why you believe it is too technical, or suggestions for improvement. Templates added without explanation are likely to be either ignored or removed." (I think your explanations are just too broad, and I don't see any good examples around) Physics students would understand the lead, and they are the most likely readers of the article. How are we going to evaluate "the effort should still be made to make the article as understandable to as many as possible", is that 100, 1k or 1M readers? As for the other good articles I mentioned, do you think we should add a "too technical" template to them as well? Why this one, why not those? Don't get me wrong, I am not angry, I'm only perplexed. Regrettably, the GA1 was not failed, and the request to withdraw was not posted there, which it should have. At the very least, the GA2 page should be deleted, which Amitchell125 can do by requesting a speedy deletion of it (use the {{g7}} template, which lets the single person who created and edited it delete a page). I have adjusted the article talk page so it reflects that the failed nomination was the GA1.

I think failing for instability is a dubious proposition once the reviewer has withdrawn, as Amitchell125 did. What I recommended was that Gerda Arendt simply say she was withdrawing the nomination, which any nominator can do at any time (and should be done on the actual review page), and ask you to return and fail it, a reasonable request. Whenever a nominator withdraws a nomination once a review has begun, it is failed (per WP:GANI). BlueMoonset (talk) 16:32, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

I wonder what your plans are with him? I'd love to help out – the article is in decent shape due to some attention by Waynejayes, but is still missing much information on his music, life through catholic-protestant courts and his legacy/influence (esp. impact on Byrd).
