I've just seen that you removed the Slavery template from the article on Bell. I'd be grateful if you could explain to me why you think it's inappropriate for this article.
Two reasons. First, the template appeared to have been copied into the page, possibly using the subst keyword. Most templates shouldn't be copied. Second, that template is meant for more general topics related to slavery. It's not included in most articles about individuals who were enslaved. pburka (talk) 17:02, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for responding. My apologies for adding the template incorrectly. It is used on the page on the Joseph Knight case, which also relates to slavery case law in Scotland so I thought it was appropriate.
It's always a judgment call. I would guess that someone thought it was appropriate on that page because of the significant emphasis on Knight v. Wedderburn, which appears to have been an influential case regarding slavery.
