Yesterday i added the comparism to diffusion in the article about convection. You edited my add. You 're right, "internal force" is misleading and "brownian motion" ist the correct discription of the physical process. But you also edited the term "caused by an external force such as gravity or heating" by "convection is a relatively large-scale effect, involving bulk fluid motion." I think yor 're right with the discription "how convection looks like" but you deleted what is the REASON for convection, and I think the reason is a (macroscopic) external force due to gravity, pressure difference, temperature difference and so on. I see your bot flagged Image:FlattenedRoundPills.jpg as possibly not meeting the requirements for deletion, but the source info on Commons looks OK to me. What gives? I am new to wikipedia and did not know I must ask for permission before posting/changing a article. I saw the article was 'going back' to the old version but did not understand why until I discovert 'history' and your comment. I think I figured out how it all works. Is not a bot changing the text but people. Now, what must I do if I want my text to show up there without changes? I am talking about 'South African Farm Attacks' page. Please advise. You don't have to ask for permission to edit, but if you are making large changes to an article, it really helps to discuss it on the talk page of the article in question, so that people don't just remove your text because they don't understand what you're doing. The South African farm attacks page is obviously a pretty emotional place, and we have had some rather radical right-wing contributions over the years, so it really helps to think very carefully before you post, and word your talk page discussions carefully as well. We seem to have achieved some balance between the extreme positions of "It's a government-sponsored genocide" and "They were racists and deserved what they got". I'm not sure which edits were yours, because you weren't logged in when you posted the comment above, but go ahead, discuss your edits on the talk page, and see what you can manage. --Slashme 06:47, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

I feel embarrassed. It was suggested to me by my brother in law to load up a link because I am constantly being sent emails from kids around NZ, Aussie, SA and Britain and, though I always reply with a link to the NZ Book Council site, I thought this might help. What I'll do is to see if I can get a reasonable article up, and then ask for a review from other editors on the notability issue. Why was the whole new section on microwave sintering cut? I provided citations, which is more than other posters provided.

Microwave sintering is a proven technnology that is widely used in Asia; is just now being adopted in the U.S.; is radically different than conventional sintering, as it yields 80% energy savings and 90% processing time reduction.

Attention All Wikigraphists!

As you may or may have not noticed, the Graphics Lab pages have gone under a massive cleanup by User:DTR, User:Rugby471 and various others (sorry if I missed you out). Some of the things that have happened are.

• All pages in the Graphics Lab have had, where sensible, templates, substituting elements. For example, the main Lab page was a large chunk of around 100 lines of pure code. It was not very easy to edit the main page, so the various sections of it (eg links, welcome) have been separated. Therefore the main page is now only around 20 lines of user friendly text. If you wish to edit the main page, you must look on the main page for the correct template to edit. (Fore example if I wanted to edit the links section, I would go to Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/links and edit the text there). This has been done to all of the pages, in an attempt to make them more user-friendly.

• As you were notified of early, the Wikigraphist Abilities page has been set up and has been beginning to get populated. If you haven't already setup your own entry, you are advised to go and do so now.

• Due to a comment from User:DTR. A template for Graphics Lab announcements has been created. It is at Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/announcement. If you ever need to issue a message to Wikigraphists, please use this template in the form

Where message is the announcement you wish to issue.

• On the Images to Improve Page, an issue was noticed where that when requests were completed, people were adding {{Did}} but forgetting to add <!--werdnabot-archive--&gt so that the request would be archived. Therefore a template has been created (yes another one!) to help with this. When a user creates a new request instead of putting the usual code, they shall put

{{Request Title|title=Lorem Ipsum|done=false}}. Now when a request is completed, all you will have to do is change done to true

done=true

and the template will add the {{did}} template and also <!--werdnabot-archive--> to the title, so it will get archived.

As always, if you experience any issues with the new changes, or are just a bit confused, please don't hesitate to contact me or DTR on our talk pages.

I'll try to convert some PNG images strucure to SVG. It's useful to use SMILES strings in BKChem to accelerate drawings.

Hello. On June 1, 2007, I added a list of Corelle pattern names to the Corelle article since Corelleware patterns are collectibles. In September, an anonymous user augmented the list. On October 30th, surprisingly, you deleted the list with the Comment: "No sense in a meaningless list of model names." IMHO, while the list might be meaningless to you, it's not meaningless to millions of users and collectors. So I created a new page, List of Corelle patterns, and moved the list there. One has to remember that NPOV is not only consesnsus between a swmall subset of the readers. One makes an article more readable by providing information that all the readers can digest. How many jewelers do you know that do CVD? Anyway, we can't have long lists of units, we have to standardize. If you want, you can put psi back into the article, but centimeters of water is not a sensible unit. If I recall correctly CM of water pressure is more commonly used in the medical and commercial diving fields, atmospheres in the aviation fields, PSI in automotive and jewelry fields, et cetera. Not to mention the question of ageism when one uses a single measurement type which has become more popular in the last 20 years. If you change this I'd appreciate you find a way of putting in all the alternatives. I think that putting a single type measurement in an article like this is poor style if you expect the readers to follow the gist of the work. Sorry I don't have more time to discuss but you get the idea. • The International System of Units is a bit older than 20 years. The fact that it has only recently been gaining popularity in the USA is unfortunate, but Wikipedia is not intended to be a US-centric publication.
• cm of water (note capitalization!) is not an appropriate unit for an article on a physics topic.

• Putting in "all the alternatives" is not concordant with the Wikipedia manual of style (see Wikipedia:Units#Units_of_measurement for more details).

Thanks for the kind words of welcome. I'm not sure how the Tosca example could be referenced; I did a brief Google search, but (not surprisingly) Lehrer's course notes for the MIT game theory course are not on-line, and even in the unlikely event I saved my notes, that wouldn't be accessible to others. BTW, I omitted another vivid example, which is now so dated as to be unintelligible to most people. He spoke of a person who would not make any decisions without discussing it with his guru in California; the exercise was, given the different phone rates, to compute at what probability of his being in it would make sense to phone person-to-person as opposed to station-to-station. Here's a nifty mouse SVG: I want to use it in a scientific breeding scheme but will need to colour the mouse for the purpose of clarity. I made the mouse originally in GIMP, a week or so before I downloaded Inkscape. I did try re-creating it in Inkscape but couldn't get it to look quite as cute so I traced it. The problem is that the lines are two-sided in terms of the paths, so changing the fill changes the outline of the mouse - the center colour doesn't change (this is far too difficult for me to explain; if you open the image and try to change the mouse fill colour, you'll get what I mean!). Can anything be done about that? I have this insatiable urge to just use the bucket fill button but it doesn't exist in Inkscape! --Seans Potato Business 02:22, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
