Camille Laurens (politician)
Camille Laurens (12 August 1906 – 15 November 1979) was a French politician who served as a deputy for the department of Cantal and as Minister of Agriculture during the Fourth French Republic. BiographyLaurens began his political career as a deputy for Cantal, participating in both the 1946 Constituent Assembly (though initially invalidated in the first) and serving in the French National Assembly from 1946 to 1958. He represented the Farmers' Party for Social Union (PPUS) and later aligned with the National Centre of Independents and Peasants (CNIP).[1] Between 1951 and 1953, Laurens held various government positions, including Minister of Agriculture and Secretary of State for Agriculture, across five governments during the presidency of Vincent Auriol.
