Crassispira cymation
Crassispira cymation is an extinct species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Pseudomelatomidae, the turrids and allies.[1] Crassispira dates to the Miocene Epoch. The fossil remains of the gastropod were found in rock strata in the coastal areas of modern-day Panama. During the Miocene Epoch, some parts of the Mexican Peninsula were underwater, which would have provided a suitable habitat for Crassispira.[2] HistoryThe species dates to the Miocene Epoch but may have lived in other epochs. LocationThe snail likely lived in the Central American region or greater. SizeThe length of the shell attains 8 mm, its diameter 3.3 mm.
