Mad Tracks
Mad Tracks is a racing game. It was developed by Load Inc. for Microsoft Windows and was released in 2006.[1] The Xbox 360 version was released on Xbox Live Arcade on May 30, 2007.[2][3] This game is not to be confused with other racing game titled Mad Trax. A reworked HD version of the game was released on Steam on March 20, 2020. GameplayMad Tracks has a single player mode and a multiplayer mode. In single player your objective is to achieve the highest trophy (Gold) by completing objectives, from racing around a track to landing your car on a face-down dart board.[citation needed] Online modeIn Mad Tracks online it is very similar to the single player. You can have up to 4 players in a single game and if you are the host you can choose the level you play at with the same objectives as single player. There is another feature allowing you to change the color of your car easily accessed by the Xbox 360 controller 'x' button, Allowing you to cycle through red, blue, yellow, green, purple, pink, black (Hajath).[citation needed] DevelopmentGame was showcased at E3 in May 2004, studio also had started to search for a publisher. Game was also announced to be released on Playstation Portable and it's release was at the time planned on a second quarter of 2005.[4] On November 11, Load Inc. had signed the contract with a publisher Micro Application to publish the game. It's premire was also pushed to third half of 2005, but was left to ponder over it's date.[5] In May 2005, game was also announced to be on Xbox and it's premire was slated to September of 2005.[6] Xbox Live ArcadeOn April 12, 2006, game was announced to be release on Xbox Live Arcade in June.[7] It was delayed in August.[8] In May 2007, D3 Publisher of of America, Inc. had announced that the game along side with RocketBowl and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, will be ported into Xbox 360, though release date was unknown.[9][10] In May 17 that same year, game was greenlighted after been, verified and certified by Microsoft Game Studios.[11] ReleaseIn January 2007, Load Inc. had reported that the game was digitally downloaded 100 000 times.[12] Later that same year in December, it was reported that the game had sold over 1.8 Million units, it's demo since it's release was downloaded 1.2 Million times and on Xbox Live Arcade over 630 000 users had downloaded it, in 6 months after Xbox 360 version's release.[13] Xbox 360 Downloadable ContentThere are two content packages for Mad Tracks. Each pack cost 350 MS pts, and added 15 challenges.[3][14]
ReceptionIGN.com said, "A decent racing romp, but you better bring your friends." They awarded the game a score of 6.8 (Okay).[15] iOS VersionA iPhone apps reviewing website appsafari.com gave the iOS version 4.5 out of 5 saying; "While there is the one small problem with the controls, this app is very fun and works very well. If you are interested in racing and blowing up other cars, you will certainly get some fun out of this."[16] References
