Ahilyapur R LocationMaheshmunda is located at 24°13′46″N 86°24′19″E / 24.2294°N 86.4052°E. Area overviewGiridih district is a part of the Chota Nagpur plateau, with rocky soil and extensive forests. Most of the rivers in the district flow from the west to east, except in the northern portion where the rivers flow north and north west. The Pareshnath Hill rises to a height of 4,479 feet (1,365 m). The district has coal and mica mines. DemographicsAccording to the 2011 Census of India, Mahesh Mundi had a total population of 7,389, of which 3,845 (52%) were males and 3,544 (48%) were females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 1,297. The total number of literate persons in Mahesh Mundi was 4,318 (70.88% of the population over 6 years).[4] InfrastructureAccording to the District Census Handbook 2011, Giridih, Mahesh Mundi covered an area of 0.93 km2.
