Marko Saar
Marko Saar (born 1975) is an Estonian installation artist known for his large-scale environmental artworks that explore the intersection of nature and industrialization. His works often incorporate found objects, recycled materials, and interactive elements to engage audiences. Early Life and EducationMarko Saar was born in Tallinn, Estonia. He studied fine arts at the Estonian Academy of Arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1997. Saar then pursued his MFA at the Berlin University of the Arts, focusing on contemporary installation techniques. CareerSaar's early works were heavily influenced by Estonia’s post-Soviet industrial transformation. His first major exhibition, Industrial Silence (2001), examined the decline of Tallinn's factory districts. In 2010, his large-scale outdoor installation Echo of the Forest was displayed at the Venice Biennale, gaining international recognition.[1] Saar has been a visiting professor at the University of the Arts Helsinki since 2018, mentoring young artists in environmental and conceptual art.
