Meringa hinaka is a species of Physoglenidae spider endemic to New Zealand.[1] TaxonomyThis species was described in 1990 by Ray Forster from male and female specimens. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum.[1] DescriptionThe male is recorded at 4.05mm in length whereas the female is 2.39mm.[1] DistributionThis species is only known from Stewart Island, Southland and Otago in New Zealand.[1] Conservation statusUnder the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Not Threatened".[2] References
