Nabalu (town)
Nabalu (Malay: Pekan Nabalu) or known as Nabalu Town is a small town located near the Mount Kinabalu of Sabah, Malaysia.[1] Several restaurants located within the vicinity with the view of the mountain.[2] A primary school named SK. Dalas, Kota Belud also located nearby which became the main education centre for the residents of Nabalu townspeople.[3] Agriculture, handicrafts, and clothes markets are the main sources of income for the people of the town.[4][5] While tourism is another most important source of income.[6][7] HistoryNabalu Town ("pekan" means town) is used to be a "toilet stop" for tourists heading to Kinabalu Park which have been flourishing since. Nabalu town is located within 12 kilometres from the national park with many tourists usually stop here for a break on their journey or taking breakfast.[5] In September 2023, the town was visited by the 16th Queen consort of Malaysia, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah during the "Kembara Kenali Borneo" royal visits.[8] Village fractionThere are several small village fractions in Pekan Nabalu among them;
