Neeraj Baid is an Indian-Canadian entrepreneur and co-founder of the international money transfer service Atlantic Money.^[1][2]

Baid was born on November 27, 1995, in Toronto, Canada, later moving to the San Francisco Bay Area where he grew up.^[3]

In 2013, Baid graduated from The Harker School.^[4] While a junior at the school, he and Neel Bhoopalam founded the school’s TEDxHarkerSchool conference.^[5][6] In 2016, Baid graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, earning a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science.^[2][7][8]

In 2015, Baid joined Robinhood Markets as an engineering intern, later commencing full-time employment while completing his degree at Berkeley.^[9] Until 2020, Baid worked at Robinhood as an engineer and product manager and was responsible for launching Robinhood for Web, Robinhood Crypto,^[10] notably the addition of Dogecoin,^[11] and expanding to the UK, which included the company’s UK subsidiary receiving an FCA license to offer investments in 2019.^[12][13][14]

In 2020, Baid co-founded Atlantic Money with Patrick Kavanagh, another former Robinhood employee.^[15] Baid initially served as the company’s co-CEO, later transitioning to sole CEO following Kavanagh’s departure in 2023.^[16]

In 2022, Atlantic Money launched its services, providing international money transfers across 33 countries^[17][18] through its FCA-licensed subsidiary in the United Kingdom^[19] and NBB-licensed subsidiary in Belgium.^[20] The company charges a flat fee of £3 per transfer for amounts up to £1,000,000 and operates without adding a foreign exchange markup.^[21]

In March 2022, Baid together with Kavanagh raised $7.5 million in seed funding for the venture from backers including Index Ventures, Ribbit Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and the founders of Robinhood, Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt.^[22][23]

In November 2024, Baid completed the sale of the Atlantic Money group to Deel, Inc.^[24]

In 2024, Baid was included on the Forbes 30 Under 30, in the finance category.^[25]
