Ognjen Mimović (Serbian Cyrillic: Огњен Мимовић; born 17 August 2004) is a Serbian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe.

Club career

Early career

Mimović arrived at Red Star Belgrade from his native Metalac Gornji Milanovac.[1][2] He also performed combined for the younger age groups of Grafičar Beograd, where he also trained with the first team during the summer of 2022.[3]

OFK Beograd

In the second part of the 2022–23 Serbian First League season,[4] he wore the jersey of OFK Beograd in Serbian First League. On 13 May 2023, he was sent off in Serbian League Belgrade match against Zemun after referee Srđan Jovanović showed him a second yellow card.[5] At the end of that competition, the OFK Beograd team finished in first place, winning three points in the last round with the official result. [6] After being promoted to a higher level of competition, Mimović continued to play for the OFK Beograd in the Serbian First League.[7][8][9]

Due to the agreed transfer of Kosta Nedeljković to Aston Villa, and then the news about his injury,[10] Mimović extended his contract with Red Star Belgrade.[11] He was added to the first team under coach Vladan Milojević, but the possibility was left, in accordance with the established Rulebook, that he could also play for OFK Beograd in the rest of the season.[12]

Red Star Belgrade

He made his debut for Red Star Belgrade in the 22nd round of the Serbian SuperLiga for the 2023–24 Serbian SuperLiga season.[13] Then, on February 24, 2024, he started the game against Čukarički as a bonus player. Then, also as a bonus, he entered the game during the second half of the 172nd Eternal derby, replacing Marko Stamenić on the field.[14] In that match, after an attack in the 86th minute, Mimović hit the opposing team's crossbar.[15]

The following season he started to find more time in the senior squad. On 20 August 2024, he scored in his continental debut with a 55th minute substitute, against Bodø/Glimt in a UEFA Champions League Qualifying Round 1st leg match, in 2-1 away game lost. Before his transfer to Fenerbahçe, he showed a very successful performance in Red Star with 35 matches in all competitions, where he played from 25 February (2024) to 29 January (2025).

Fenerbahçe

On 31 January 2025, Mimović joined Turkish club Fenerbahçe for undisclosed fee, until the end of 2028–29 season.[16]

International

In September 2022, Mimović received an invitation from Jovan Damjanović to the Serbia U19 team for the "Stevan Vilotić Ćele" Memorial Tournament.[17][18] In the qualification cycle for the European Championship, he played against his peers from Poland U19 in March 2023. In that match, he was the scorer of one of the goals in a draw with a score of 2–2, after which the Serbian team ended the qualification cycle without qualifying for the final tournament. In mid-March 2024, he received an invitation from Ljubinko Drulović to the Serbia U21 for qualifying matches at the end of the same month .[19][20] He made his debut against Luxembourg U21, in Serbia's sixth match in 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification Group F. Then he replaced Uroš Lazić in the 79th minute, and the event ended with a score of 1–1. A few days later, he was in the starting line-up in the defeat against Northern Ireland U21, at Dubočica Stadium. in Leskovac.
