Yoshvani MedinaYoshvani Medina (born 1967 in Pinar del Río, Cuba) is a Cuban-American and French playwright, theater director, and professor. He is a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris. Medina is widely known for his contributions to theater and television, including his work as the creator of the series Púber, produced by NBC-Telemundo. Early life and educationMedina was born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, in 1967. At the age of 23, he won the National Theater Award (Cuba) for his play Neurosis. He later moved to Paris, where he studied at the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique, earning a degree in dramatic arts.[1] CareerTheaterMedina has written, directed, and produced over 100 plays throughout his career, many of which have been performed internationally. In Miami, he established the ArtSpoken Performing Arts Center, a venue dedicated to Hispanic theater. His works explore complex themes of identity, human conflict, and societal challenges, gaining him recognition as a leading voice in contemporary Hispanic theater.[2] His plays have been included in the Royal Spanish Academy's CORPES XXI project, which archives contemporary Spanish-language texts.[3] TelevisionIn 2018, Medina transitioned to television, debuting with the series Púber, directed by Ubi Medina and produced by NBC-Telemundo.
