MC Caro
Caroline Moore, better known as MC Caro, is a Liberian rapper and songwriter.[1][2][3][4] [5] She gained recognition in the Liberian music industry after releasing the viral freestyle rap song "Pro Poor".[6][7][8] MC Caro won Best Female Rapper of the Year at the 2020 Liberia Music Awards.[9] Early lifeMC Caro was born to Christiana T. Nagbe and Garpu Moore, in New Kru Town, Monrovia. [10] She attended Nimely Brothers Children Preparatory School for her primary education and enrolled at Ndee Matta Memorial Foundation after her family moved to Gbanjor. She later returned to New Kru Town and completed her primary education at St. Lawrence Elementary & Junior High School. After graduating from St. Lawrence Elementary & Junior High School, she attended St. Edwards Catholic High School for her secondary education. MC Caro was unable to advanced her undergraduate studies in college due to financial circumstances. Music careerCaro started her rap journey in the underground scene of Liberia.[11] Despite her life from the slum and unpopularity then, the stereotypes and cultural barriers, Caro broke through into the Liberian music industry in 2018 through her viral free style" Pro Poor".[12] In 2018, MC Caro made a viral song "Bring Back our Moni" voicing out her frustrations about the missing two shipping containers with one hundred million dollars.[13][14] The song won the hearts of many due to its brutal stance on corruption.
